
The Peace Museum supporting this year’s Street Choirs Festival & was the first to offer SWAG for our bags.

The Peace Museum explores the history and the often-untold stories of peace, peacemakers, social reform and peace movements. Since the museum was founded in 1994, they’ve been collecting items which tell the stories of peace in many different forms. Their 16,000-object collection is made up of banners, personal objects, campaign materials and artworks donated by people and organisations all over the world. It is truly unique in that it is the only accredited museum of its kind in the UK.
Opening Hours- Spring/Summer hours will be Thursdays – Sundays, between 10-4pm.
Admission- Entry to the museum is free.
The Peace Museum is a charity, and all support is gratefully received. Donations ensure the museum remains free for everybody to visit and enable us to continue our work. We accept cash and card payments for donations. You can also donate online here.
Getting to The Peace Museum– The Peace Museum is located on the 3rd Floor of Salts Mill. There are two entrances to Salts Mill, one on each end of the main building. The lift is located through the tunnel beside the entrance nearest to the car park.
Getting to Salts Mill– Salts Mill is in the heart of Saltaire and is easily accessible by transport links.
Arriving by train: We are a short distance from Saltaire train station and located on the opposite side of the bridge by the station platform entrances/exits.
Arriving by car: Salts Mill has free car parking. To use this car park, please use postcode BD17 7DR for directions and follow the brown ‘Salts Mill’ road signs.
Accessibility- For disabled access and parking, continue past the first car park towards the Mill entrance, where you will find disabled parking spaces. There is level access to all public areas and the lift is located through the tunnel opposite these parking spaces.
There’s an accessible toilet in The Peace Museum on the 3rd Floor. In Salts Mill there are accessible toilets on the ground floor and the 2nd floor.
